Two teams with little to play for produced a thrilling five-goal encounter.

David Kanzen, Mike Khlastchi and Johann Jordi all scored for the hosts, with Adam Rones and Richard Sternberg replying for Team.

Camden manager Stirling Kay told jewishnews.co.uk: “They came with 11 and we had six full-backs on the pitch with two playing as forwards, so it was never going to be a beautiful game of football. With both sides free from relegation, it was a very open game, we dominated the the first half and deservedly led.

“The second half saw them come into the game, but we had 5-6 clear chances and the game should of been all over. they drew level with five minutes remaining, but we then went down the other end and scored an injury time winner.

“This performance showed the improvement the squad has made over the last two months, the willingness to keep going and not give in.”

MACCABI LONDON LIONS A 3 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A 1
Lions put themselves in a perfect frame of mind ahead of next weekend’s Cyril Anekstein Cup final as they both beat – and leapfrogged – Raiders.

Adam Arnold, Jack Mattey and James Gold scored for the Lions, with Alex Moss netting Raiders’ consolation goal.

The champions made it 15 wins from 17 games as they recorded this comfortable win.

Kane Hopps scored twice, with Sam Moss also on target.

NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B 2 ATHLETIC BILBAUM 3
Bilbaum will finish outside of the bottom two if they win their final game of the season as they shocked Raiders in a five-goal thriller.

Samuel Deaner scored twice for the visitors, the opener being a looping header over the goalkeeper from a deep cross, before he kept his composure when played through on goal to calmly slot it home. Rob Rodney sealed the win when he converted from the penalty spot.

A club statement said: “This was a comprehensive performance and a deserved victory. This shows what we are capable of and we hope to continue our strong showing in our final game against Redbridge.”

Alex Elf’s strike and an own goal from a Mark Leader header proved to be a mere consolation for the Raiders, with manager Jonathan Adelman telling jewishnews.co.uk: “Comprehensively the most insipid performance of this or perhaps any season. Despite a bizarre decision to award Bilbaum a penalty for the winning goal, we got exactly the result we deserved.”

Real Hendon moved up into fifth spot thanks to this comfortable victory over the bottom side.

Gav Noe scored twice, with Benny Goldberg, Benni Slukis, Gilad Kestenbaum, Lollu Hibbert and joint-player-manager Chaim Gothold all on target.

Gothold told jewishnews.co.uk: “The pitch was a bit of a leveller, so we did well to score a few goals and run out comfortable winners.

RC UK FC 5 CATFORD & BROMLEY 2
RC UK FC kept their top-three finish on track as Catford ended their season on a losing note.

Jez Hammond scored twice, with Zalmy Cohen, Akiva Solomon and David Brown all getting on the scoresheet.

Player-manager Avi Markiewicz told jewishnews.co.uk: “For the second time this season I was away and this week Dovi Vogel took the reigns. He did an excellent job in my absence. We managed to avenge our defeat from earlier in the campaign and also try to show a little consistency that deserted us at times this season. I was told that we controlled the game from start to finish with just a small hiccup at the end of the first half.”
