Long serving ZF director to become new chief of JNF

Alan Aziz

Long-serving Zionist Federation director  is leaving to become the new chief executive of JNF.

Announcing his decision on Tuesday, Aziz said: “I have decided to move from one iconic Zionist institution to another.”

He added: “It has been a pleasure and a privilege, even at the toughest of times, to defend and promote Israel in the UK.”

Zionist Federation chairman Paul Charney said: “Alan has been a successful and formidable chief executive officer for the ZF for many years and will be sorely missed.”

A spokesman said that after 15 years at the helm, Aziz could look back on his achievements, including the annual Lobby Day at parliament, as well as Science Week for students and organising the capital’s Yom Ha’atzmaut celebrations.

Aziz said it was a “huge honour” to head the JNF which did “incredible work to develop the south of Israel, with its programmes promoting environmental development, funding scientific research, and improving social mobility”.
