Escape for El Al plane at Heathrow after pilot fails to lower wheels

Passengers on an El Al flight to London had a lucky escape after the pilots failed to lower the plane’s landing gear.

The Boeing 737 was approaching Heathrow Airport last month when an alarm went off to signal the error just two miles from touch down. The landing gear should have been lowered six miles from the runway, according to reports on Nana 10. Passengers were unaware of any issue as the flight climbed again before coming in to land safely.
