Maccabi Tel Aviv ended their season’s Champions League with a sixth straight defeat on Wednesday night.

Denys Garmash’s goal was enough to give Dynamo Kiev a 1-0 win over the Israeli champions, as the Ukrainian side booked their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Garmash’s winning strike arrived in the 16th minute, in a match which was played behind closed doors after Dynamo were forced to serve their stadium ban following racist behaviour from fans in the match against Chelsea.

Speaking about the match and their campaign overall, which sees them finish bottom of the table, with no points, and having scored just one goal, Head Coach Slavisa Jokanovic said: “I was happy that the team followed the plan that we had set out prior to the match and our defense was able to stop Kiev’s offensive players. But we didn’t control the ball very well and we didn’t have many chances, we showed organisation on the pitch but we didn’t show quality in this tournament.”
