Man bailed over alleged antisemitic tirade on London bus

27-year-old was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence

A 27-year-old man has been released on bail without charge in connection with an antisemitic verbal attack on an elderly couple while travelling on public transport.

The incident occurred last Thursday on the 253 bus near Manor House station in Hackney.

The Met Police said: “On Thursday 11 February, a 27-year-old man was arrested by officers from the Hackney Safer Transport Team on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence.

“He has been released on bail to a date later this month.”
