The Jewish Leadership Council this week announced a new trustee.

As chair of The Fed in Manchester, Mark Adlestone’s expertise will contribute to the organisation’s efforts to address the challenges facing the community’s care sector. He oversaw the merger between The Fed and Heathlands Village and his “guidance will enrich Chairman Jonathan Goldstein’s focus on ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the community”, according to a statement.

Mark Adlestone said he was “thrilled and honoured” to have been appointed by the new chair in one of his first moves since taking over last month. “Since joining as a Council Member nearly three years ago, I have developed a much greater appreciation and awareness of communal responsibility and hope that my Northern presence will offer a slightly different and broader perspective to my fellow Trustees,” he said.

Goldstein said: “I am delighted Mark has agreed to serve as a trustee. Over the years, Mark has made an invaluable contribution to the JLC membership and our entire community and I have no doubt he will continue to do so in his new role. Mark’s considerable business acumen and experience make him a valuable asset to the JLC.”

Adlestone will also help drive the JLC’s regional outreach by working with the External Affairs team and colleagues across the country.
