Masters football review – week 13

Chigwell closed the gap on the Division One leaders, while Lions B lost their 100 percent winning Division Two start, writes Jeremy Silverstone.

There were goals galore in Sunday’s Masters League, which included a seven-goal thriller in Division One and a second vs third clash in Division Two.

DIVISION ONE:
TABLE

Chigwell made up some ground on the leaders North London Raiders after hanging on to record a 4-3 win over Brady A. Robert Donn scored twice, with Adam Stolerman and Saul Conway also on target. Graeme Grossman claimed two, with Shnayer Shapiro also on target for Brady.

Scrabble saw their way past HMH, also by a solitary goal. Lloyd Becker scored twice with Jonny Summerfield also finding the back of the net. Neil Kochane and Jamie Beaumont replied for HMH.

DIVISION TWO:
TABLE

Lions B’s 100 percent winning start to the season is over after Ian Leder scored in their 1-0 defeat by EDRS.

Goals from Jeremy Asher and a late strike from Andrew Cohen gave Marshside a 2-0 victory over Hendon Harriers.

St John’s Wood Tigers suffered another narrow defeat as they were beaten 3-2 by Glenthorne. Lloyd Nygate, Gary Adams and a 25-yard volley from Dave Galman saw them to the points, Jonny Feinmesser and Grant Morgan replied for Tigers.
