Masters football review – week 20

Sunday saw the season's first Nathan Horwitz Cup ties played, while Chigwell claimed the only league win of the day, writes Jeremy Silverstone.

Chigwell closed in at the top of Division One, while there were two healthy cup wins for Maccabi London Lions B and St John’s Wood Tigers.

DIVISION ONE:

The only league game of the day saw Chigwell move to within seven points of the leaders, with a game in hand, as they beat Brady A 3-2.

Goals from Neil Gallagher, Danny Hakimi and Steve Summers sealed the win, with two Gavin Sherman headers replying for Brady.

Sunday morning saw the Nathan Horwitz Cup kick-off and provided victories for Maccabi London Lions B and St John’s Wood Tigers.

The Lions claimed a 4-1 win against EDRS, thanks to Marc Morris’ double, plus strikes from Simon Davidson and David Pollock.Darren Coon notched a consolation for EDRS.

Meanwhile, Darryl Lazarus scored four as The Tigers beat Temple Fortune 6-0. Ian Cohen and John Perloff made it a sweet six for the Tigers.
