Masters football review – week seven

Lions missed the chance to go joint-top in Division One, while EHRS extended their lead at the top of Division Two, writes Jeremy Silverstone.

Brady handed Lions a first league defeat of the season Division One, while a five-star performance from EHRS saw them make it five wins from five in Division Two.

DIVISION ONE:
TABLE

Lions A missed out on the chance to go joint-top of the table after they suffered their first league defeat of the season – losing 4-2 to Brady. Aviel Schwartz and Michael Abraham scored for Lions, but goals from Alex Bourne, Mark Wagman, Graeame Grossman and Shnayer Shapiro earned Brady their victory.

Their misery was compounded by also surrendering second spot to Chigwell, who saw goals from Jonathan Swead, Richard Slater, Glenn Davis and Scott Warren earn them a 4-1 win over HMH, Neil Kochane converting a second-half consolation penalty.

DIVISION TWO:
TABLE

EHRS Stonegrove extended their lead at the top of the table to five points as they made it five wins from five with a 5-3 win over Glenthorne. Ashley Davidson scored twice, with Dean SchulbergMarc Morris and an own goal securing them the points.

Hendon Harriers secured their first win of the season as they beat Brady B 3-1 thanks to goals from Ian Sumray, Paul Herszaft and Ilan Cohen’s penalty. Sacha Alter replied for Brady.
