Masters football review – week two

There were goals galore in Sunday's Maccabi Masters League action, writes Jeremy Silverstone.

Five games produced 31 goals as Raiders hit HMH for six in Division One, while Lions B came away from Glenthorne with eight goals in Division Two.

MGBSFL – WEEK THREE REVIEW

DIVISION ONE:
TABLE

A Gavin Sherman treble was enough to give Brady A all three points as they edged out Scrabble 3-2. John Cohen and Andy Miller scored for Scrabble.

North London Raiders hit six without reply against HMH, with Wayne Davidson helping himself to a double, and James Cartmell, Dan Hodes, Lloyd Becker and Matt Kleinman also all getting on the scoresheet

DIVISION TWO:
TABLE

Hat-tricks from Paul Lenchner and Michael Abrahams, plus a double from Max Radford gave Lions B an 8-1 victory against Glenthorne, with Adam Lennard scoring Glenthorne’s consolation.

Elsewhere, two goals from Jason Bentley and one from Oren Wolf saw St John’s Wood Tigers to a 3-1 win over Hendon Harriers, for whom Andy Diamond replied.

The fourth hat-trick of the day came from Marshside’s Fara Moghim, as he helped them earn a 5-2 win over Temple Fortune. Jason Rich and Andrew Cohen also scored for Marshside, whilst Fortune’s goals came from Alan Harounoff and a late penalty from Robert Botkai.
