Masters football review – week two

Chigwell and North London Raiders kicked off their Masters Division One seasons with thrilling wins, while St John's Wood Tigers made it two wins from two games in Division Two, writes Jeremy Silverstone.

Chigwell got their season off to a winning start

Two seven-goal thrillers saw Chigwell and The Raiders get their season off to a winning start, and there were 15 goals scored in the three Division Two matches.

DIVISION ONE:
TABLE

Two own goals, along with strikes from Adam Stolerman and Scott Levy saw Chigwell edge a ding-dong battle as they beat Brady A 4-3, in a game which saw the lead change hands four times. Scott Ansher’s double and Ashley Davidson hit back for Brady.

North London Raiders kicked off their campaign with a 4-3 win over HMH courtesy of goals from Tony Plaskow, Alex Bourne, Dave Lusman and Andrew Wolfin. James Temple, Jamie Beaumont and Zuriel Solomon replied for HMH.

DIVISION TWO:
TABLE

St John’s Wood Tigers are top of the table, after two second half goals from Paul Herszaft, along with John Perloff’s strike saw them beat Hendon Harriers 3-0 as them made it two wins from two.

Robert Botkai, Dean Ingram, Leon Wise and Gary Burns all netted to give Temple Fortune a 4-1 win over Brady B, Gary Field grabbed Brady’s consolation from the spot.

Reigning champions Lions B had a hat-trick from Marc Morris and Danny Gordon strike see them beat Glenthorne 4-3. Adam Lennard, Gary Adams and Paul van Gelder scored for the Thornes.
