Maccabi London Lions secured a fourth successive Nathan Horwitz MMFL Division 2 Cup title on Thursday evening to add to the Henry Swerner Trophy they won last week.

A first half hat-trick from Man-of-the-Match Gideon Barnett set them on the way to a 4-0 win over EHRS, with Darren Dryer adding the final goal after the break.

DIVISION ONE:
TABLE

Whilst Lions’ hopes of a clean sweep of Masters titles were thwarted by North London Raiders winning the Division 1 championship last week, Lions A assured themselves of a top 3 finish with a 6-0 win over Scrabble, inspired by two goals each from Lee Cash and Hadley Silver, along with strikes from Paul Lenchner and Craig Pearl.

DIVISION TWO:
TABLE

Lions B remain favourites to take the Division 2 title and make it an impressive treble, despite surprisingly going down 1-0 to St John’s Wood Tigers. Tigers’ victory hinged on a second half volley from the edge of the area from Dean Schulberg, leaving Lions four points adrift of EHRS, now with two games in hand.

Meanwhile, Glenthorne ensured third place after they beat Hendon Harriers 5-3. Dave Galman scored twice, with Richard Lester, Adam Lennard and Trevor Granger also on target. Mark Rose, Jason Rich and Darren Coon replied for Harriers.
