Chigwell suffered a shock defeat in Division One, while there was a rare victory for Hendon Harriers in Division Two writes Jeremy Silverstone
Division One title-chasers Chigwell suffered a shock defeat, while there was an equally-surprising emphatic victory in Division Two…
DIVISION ONE:
TABLE
Brady A and Maccabi London Lions A met in a double-header.
The first leg saw Brady take a two-goal lead, thanks to Alex Bourne and Scott Ansher goals, but Lions hit back in the final five minutes through Paul Lenchner and Michael Abraham to come away with a 2-2 draw.
The Lions did though take the points in the second game, Michael Abraham’s double, coupled with goals from Alex Levack and Adam Brand sealing a 4-2 win. Bourne and Kevin Lotzof replied for Brady.
The shock result of the day went to Scrabble, who recorded only their third league win of the season – and in doing so put a significant dent in Chigwell’s title aspirations, Serge Cowan’s late goal proved to be the difference between the teams.
DIVISION TWO:
TABLE
Bottom club Hendon Harriers enjoyed a rare scoring spree as two goals each from Ian Sumray and Jon Nesbitt helped them to a 6-0 win over Brady B. Jason Rich and Darren Coon completed the rout.
