MGBSFL – WEEK 22 REVIEW

NATHAN HORWITZ MMFL DIVISION TWO CUP, sponsored by Atlantis Travel.

Marshside progressed at the expense of Glenthorne, with two goals from Jason Rich, along with strikes from Fara Moghim, Justin Woolf and David Hyman, giving them a 5-1 win.

Also into the hat for the next round are St John’s Wood Tigers, who dispatched Brady B 7-0. Ashley Marks and Darryl Lazarus scored two each, with Paul Herszaft, Grant Morgan and Adam Soller goals completing the rout.

Lions B will join them too, as a hat-trick from Michael Abraham and goals from Arthur Duke and Simon Black secured a 5-0 win over Temple Fortune.

DIVISION ONE:

The battle of the top two saw leaders North London Raiders suffer their first league defeat of the season as Chigwell came away with a 3-2 win.

Steve Summers’ double and Scott Warren’s strike saw them to the win, despite Raiders’ Jonny Blain reducing the deficit to a single goal with a second-half brace. The win sees close the gap between the top two to just four points, with them still having a game in hand.

The other game in the division saw Danny Carr and Scott Ansher earn Brady a 2-1 win over Scrabble, for whom Dan Lewis replied.
