#Masters: Sunday Masters review – week 18

The Masters League Cup got underway on Sunday, while there were also games played in both Divisions, writes Jeremy Silverstone

HENRY SWERNER MACCABI MASTERS FOOTBALL LEAGUE CUP:

The Masters League Cup kicked off this week with Brady A, Faithfold and North London Raiders all safely through their ties against Division 2 opponents.

Louis Taylor’s double, along with goals from David Garson, Mike Patterson, Howard Cazin and Damian Jacobs saw Faithfold beat Hendon Harriers 6-1, Brian Deal netting Hendon’s consolation.

Raiders cruised past Marshside 6-0, thanks to doubles from Rob Cohen and Ben Simons, together with strikes from Wayne Davidson and Adam Harvey.

Brady A inflicted a first defeat of the season upon the lower tier’s runaway leaders, London Lions, with Scott Warren and Mark Wagman giving them a 2-0 win.

DIVISION ONE:

Scrabble were beaten 4-2 by Waldaf Town, Alex Bourne scored twice, with Nicky Harris and debutant Dan Ezra also on target. Andrew Binstock and Steven Moss replied for Scrabble.

EDRS and Glenthorne drew 1-1, Tony Platman and Gary Adams scoring respectively.
