Masters: Sunday Masters review – week 21

EDRS scored eight goals in Nathan Horwitz Division Two Cup, while there was a shock in Division One as HMH beat title-chasing Chigwell Athletic, writes Jeremy Silverstone

NATHAN HORWITZ DIVISION TWO CUP:

EDRS cruised to an 8-0 win over Hendon Harriers. Martin Seifert scored twice, with Ian Sassoon, Jon Holman, Tony Platman, Ian Leader, Russell Rich and Mark Kingston all on target to complete the rout.

The result of the day belonged to HMH, who came from behind to beat title challengers Chigwell 2-1, thanks to a spectacular overhead kick from James Pincus and strike from James Temple. Mark Conway had opened the scoring for Chigwell.

Elsewhere, Brady A came back from two goals down at the interval to beat Waldaf Town 3-2. Mark Wagman, Gavin Sherman, and Scott Warren’s penalty earning them a dramatic win.

Brady B came close to a remarkable comeback after falling 4-0 behind to Marshside, but Trevor Tucker’s double, along with Pete Sugarman and Gary Rose goals weren’t enough, as Marshside eventually won 5-4. Sam Nourazi, Darren Coon, Fara Moghim, Alex Mamouri and Darren Manning all scoring to ensure they claimed the points.
