Masters: Sunday Masters review – week 25

Sunday was cup day in the Masters League, as big wins for North London Raiders and Chigwell saw them into the last four of the Masters Cup, while London Lions booked their place in the Division Two cup final, writes Jeremy Silverstone

MACCABI MASTERS CUP:
In the quarter-finals, North London Raiders scored eight without reply against Faithfold, the goals coming from a Tony Plaskow hat-trick, two goals from Saul Conway, plus one each from Gideon Gold, Nicky Skone and Rob Cohen.

And despite some brave resistance from EDRS, Chigwell, topped that, with an 11-0 win. Mark Conway and Jamie Fox both scored hat-tricks, Glenn Davis scored twice, with Russell Yershon, Jamie Sinclair and Richard Slater completing the scoring.

Elsewhere, Mark Wagman’s hat-trick and Jonathan Cohen’s strike gave Brady A a 4-2 win over HMH, for whom Marc Raztker and Steven Gordon replied.

Waldaf Town had an Alex Bourne treble and Nicholas Belkin strike to thank for their 4-2 win over St John’s Wood Tigers, for whom Paul Herszaft and Perry Somers netted.

NATHAN HORWITZ DIVISION TWO CUP:
Substitutes Darren Coon and Simon Davidson scored to take the newly-crowned league winners to yet another cup final as Maccabi London Lions overcame Glenthorne 2-0.
