Former President Shimon Peres and actor Michael Douglas appeared on Wednesday in front of hundreds of young Jewish leaders at the Peres Center for Peace in Jaffa and addressed issues such as the attempts to boycott Israel and the Iranian nuclear threat. Actor Michael Douglas has met with Israeli statesman Shimon Peres, during his visit to Israel this week.

Peres and Douglas appeared on Wednesday in front of hundreds of young Jewish leaders at the Peres Center for Peace in Jaffa.

During a discussion entitled ‘Jewish voices talk peace’ – they addressed issues such as the attempts to boycott Israel and the Iranian nuclear threat.

The actor and producer who has won four Golden Globes – is in Israel to accept the $1m Genesis Prize – dubbed the ‘Jewish Nobel Prize.’

 

Douglas, the actor said: “I am a UN ambassador for peace and I would like to say that from my experience the biggest problem in the world are nuclear weapons.”

He said ‘Jews should come to Israel and feel Israel’.

Jewish Agency chairman, Natan Sharansky also attending the discussion.
