Migdal Ohr’s global 36-hour campaign raises more than £1m for orphaned children in Israel

Funds will help the 300 children living in the charity's foster homes

Migdal Or fundraising campaign 2026

UK Jewish charity Migdal Ohr raised more than £1.2 million in a 36-hour matched funding campaign this weekend to support some of Israel’s most vulnerable children.

The initiative brought together hundreds of donors, volunteers, community champions, and supporters across the UK, France, Israel, and beyond to help the charity expand its foster family programme.

The funds raised will help provide stability, emotional support, therapy, education, food, essential care, and a nurturing family environment for more than 300 children living in Migdal Ohr’s Mishpachtonim homes.

Many of these children have experienced trauma, neglect, abuse, loss, or family breakdown, and rely on the charity for the security and support they need to rebuild their lives.

Amit Fraser, chief executive of Migdal Ohr Europe, said: “At a time when Israel continues to face immense challenges, it is more important than ever that we stand together and protect the most vulnerable members of our society. Through this campaign, thousands of people came together to make a promise to Israel’s children – that they will not be forgotten, that they will be cared for, and that they will always have a place to belong. We are deeply grateful to every donor, volunteer, champion, and supporter who made this incredible achievement possible.”

Nearly 2 million people live below the poverty line in Israel, including almost 900,000 children.
