Moishe House to open first site in south London

Moishe House is to open its first site south of the river this weekend.

The organisation, which offers a home and a Jewish way of life for young adults, is opening its new house in Clapham on July 28.

It will be run by three residents Livia Frankish, Neetu Puranikmath and Emily Zinkin, offering a communal space for young Members of the community, including for shabbat, festivals and a range of activities.

The new venture is supported by the Genesis Philanthropy Group, JHub-Pears Foundation, Sir Trevor Chinn, Shoresh Charitable Trust, European Jewish Fund and American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC).

Livia, 25, said: “I look forward to living with other Jewish people for the first time and having people every single Friday at home to say Shabbat Shalom to.”

Adam Rossano, Senior Director: Global Communities at Moishe House, said, in addition to the two Moishe Houses Kilburn and Belsize Park, “we’re thrilled to support this new location, serving those keen for community without the commute, and building on the vibrancy of Jewish life south of the river.”
