Nadav Schneerson launches debut album at JW3

Drummer and jazz musician performs for one night with line-up of acclaimed artists

Nadav Schneerson

A Tomorrow’s Warriors alumnus, drummer Nadav Schneerson brings together top musicians from projects and festivals worldwide for an innovative, one-night-only performance to present his debut album Sheva, a bold fusion of jazz, global rhythms and contemporary collaboration.

London-based Nadav featured in two performances at Ronnie Scott’s this week, after performing in a concert at the Southbank Centre.

Nadav, 25, blends contemporary jazz styles with various influences from around the Middle East. Predominantly self taught, his compositions are youthful, creative and melodic. The album blends acoustic sounds with live electronics – bridging old and new worlds. Nadav’s deep appreciation and respect for jazz and his spiritual Jewish heritage play a vital role in the intention of his music.

“My goal with my creations is to reach someone in some capacity… to make someone feel something, think about someone, somewhere, or even inspire new art,” he says. “The purpose is to heal, educate, bring together. I feel an intense purpose of bringing people together through music, and that’s all I can hope for.”

As well as appearing in the UK, Nadav has performed at the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Montreux Jazz Festival, in Warsaw, Gran in Canaria and played a six-week residency in China.

Nadav Schneerson is at JW3 on 26 March at 7.30pm. jw3.org.uk
