Neo-Nazi teens who intended to target Jews are jailed

Jewish security bosses have welcomed the jailing of two neo-Nazis teenagers from St Albans and Leeds who displayed a “violent mindset” after a court heard how their intended targets included Jews.

Michal Szewczuk, 19, from Leeds, posted a picture of Prince Harry with a gun to his head, calling him a “race traitor” for marrying Meghan Markle. In his blog, he said the rape of women and children was justified in pursuit of an Aryan race.

He was sentenced to four years in a young offenders’ institution after being found guilty of encouraging terrorism and possession of terrorist material, including the White Resistance Manual and an al-Qaida training manual.

Oskar Dunn-Koczorowski, 18, from St Albans, was studying computer science at Portsmouth University when he was arrested in December. He was charged with encouraging terrorism on the Gab social media site, which hosts many whose accounts have been blocked by Twitter.

Prosecutors said Dunn-Koczorowski worshipped Norwegian mass murdered Anders Breivik and “conveyed a message of threat” to anyone he “perceived to be complicit in the perpetuation of multi-culturalism”. He was sentenced to an 18-month training and detention order.

A spokesman for the Community Security Trust, which oversees security in Jewish institutions in the UK, welcomed the sentencing but said the resurgence of far-right ideologues intent of physical violence was now self-evident.

“As we saw so tragically in Pittsburgh and San Diego, antisemitism from the far right is an enduring threat for Jewish communities,” he said.

“This case is another example of the increased efforts of some violent neo-Nazis to attack Jews and other minorities.”
