Netflix sci-fi series The One features Hannah Ware

Eight-part drama also stars Riviera actor Dimitri Leonidas and Industry star Amir El-Masry as one of her friends, who harbours much deeper feelings.

Hitman: Agent 47 and The First actress Hannah Ware headlines Netflix’s new sci-fi series, The One, which is released next month.

Based on a book by John Marrs, this relationship drama tackles a unique premise: What if we could find our perfect partner through DNA matching?

Ware – sister of singer Jessie Ware – stars as Rebecca, the ambitious and impulsive founding CEO of MatchDNA, a tech company that helps people identify the one person with whom you’re genetically predisposed to fall passionately in love. While the idea is simple enough, those who take part soon discover the implications are nothing less than explosive.

The eight-part drama also stars Riviera actor Dimitri Leonidas, as Rebecca’s best friend and co-founder of MatchDNA and Industry star Amir El-Masry as one of her friends, who harbours much deeper feelings.

The One airs from 12 March on Netflix
