New Jewish-Arab party launches bid for Knesset with call for peace and equality
Co-leaders say new movement aims to unite Jewish and Arab voters ahead of next Israeli election
A new Jewish-Arab political party has announced plans to contest Israel’s next general election, positioning itself as a joint movement for peace, equality and social justice at a time of deep political division.
The party, called A Place for Us All, was officially launched on Tuesday and will be led by co-chairs Rula Daood and Alon-Lee Green.
Its founders say the movement aims to attract both Jewish and Arab voters under a shared platform focused on everyday concerns, including personal security, violent crime, housing, education and the rising cost of living.
The party also intends to make renewed efforts towards an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement a central part of its campaign, arguing that the issue has been pushed aside amid ongoing conflict and political instability.
Unlike many existing parties, A Place for Us All says it will operate as a fully shared Jewish-Arab political movement, presenting the same message in both Hebrew and Arabic and seeking support across both communities.
The launch comes as Israel’s political landscape remains fragmented following months of debate over the country’s future direction, the continuing war and growing public concerns over security and economic pressures.
Announcing the party’s formation, Daood said: “We are announcing a new party today. The ‘A Place for Us All’ party. A truly shared Arab-Jewish party, truly equal, that grew from the ground up and will not disconnect from it. We are doing this because this is the last moment to save our society. We are being abandoned, murdered, our future is being burned – and I know that to fix this, it is not enough to only say what we are against. We also need to say what we are for. So not only will we be part of the struggle to replace Netanyahu, Ben Gvir, and Smotrich, but we will also lead in the elections the struggle for Israeli-Palestinian peace, national and civil equality, and social justice.”
Green said the party hoped to bring activists who have campaigned on issues including peace, equality and anti-racism into the political arena.
“From the ground, we are running for the Knesset. From struggles in the streets – for peace and against war, for equality and against crime, abandonment, and racism – we are gathering the courage to step into the political arena where decisions are made,” he said
“The ‘A Place for Us All’ party is a home for all Jews and Arabs who support peace, equality, and social justice. Our run will strengthen the effort to remove Ben Gvir, Smotrich, and Netanyahu from power. The party will bring out young voters who, without a Jewish-Arab party, would not have gone to vote.”
Party organisers say they hope to offer a new political home for Israelis seeking greater Jewish-Arab cooperation and a different approach to some of the country’s most divisive challenges ahead of the next Knesset election.
