New jLiving boss is ‘overwhelmed by the warm welcome’

June Morton

There is a new boss at the Jewish Community Housing Association, now known as jLiving, after former chief executive Sara Clarke stepped down earlier this year after more than two decades in the top job.

June Morton, who has worked for housing associations and councils across London, said she was “overwhelmed by the warm welcome” following her first week.

Clarke, who has shaped the organisation, will continue to be involved as a consultant, and the two women will need to form a working relationship very quickly to avoid any tension over the direction of the organisation.

During her 21 year career, Clarke grew the organisation through the 1997 merger of JBG Housing Society and the Bnai Brith Housing Society, and increased the number of communal partnerships.

As Morton took the chair, jLiving chairman Bradley Reback highlighted her “wealth of experience,” adding: “She really understands what we’re looking to achieve.”
