A new Rabbinic couple at Western Marble Arch Synagogue spoke about the projects they hope to steer into reality, as they were inducted by Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis on Sunday 22 May.

Daniel and Ilana Epstein have been in post at WMA since March 2021 and were formally welcomed by their new community.

“The event was wonderful,” he said. “There were addresses from the Chief Rabbi, who spoke about dedication to community and how both Ilana and I are active in our roles making people feel welcome.”

WMA president Michael Ziff als spoke about bringing people back to shul and delivering change to the community and to the West End.

Rabbi Epstein introduced plans to get three major projects underway:

  • a Central London Eruv
  • Mikva
  • Kollel for Torah Study

Ilana Epstein spoke about the important projects ahead and making WMA a place for everyone.

Their 15-year old son Jacob also spoke about enjoying living a Jewish life in London’s West End.

Ilana and Daniel started in the Rabbinate at Cockfosters & New Southgate United Synagogue in June 2014 – this is their second posting.
