New Year gifting: not all presents are Equal

Kisharon proves you can buy beautiful gifts while helping raise much-needed funds for charity

Kisharon's personalised honey jars

If you’re still looking for that special gift for your Rosh Hashanah host, you’re more than likely to be able to find it while also helping out a worthy charity.

Kisharon, which helps people with learning disabilities in the Jewish community, is taking orders for its personalised honey jars until Tuesday. Collection of the jars, which come in two sizes (227g, for £7.50, or a smaller jar of 31g for £2), is from Kisharon’s Temple Fortune-based gift store, Equal.

There are plenty of other gifts to buy in the shop, from Rosh Hashanah-related goods, including painted and glazed honey dippers (£7) – made by the very people the charity supports – and cards (£4 for a pack of four), as well as nuts and dried fruit packaged in reusable jars (£7). Also on sale are elegant wares for use all year round, such as bowls, platters, and salad servers.

To order the personalised honey jars, visit www.kisharon.org.uk/honey, or call 020 8457 5000. Equal is at 818 Finchley Road, London NW11 6XL.
