‘Odius’ cartoons mocking Israeli kidnappings found in Palestinian media

Several “odious” images seemingly celebrating the capture of three Jewish boys have appeared in official Palestinian media.

In one widely-circulated depiction, the World Cup trophy is shown in what Palestinian Media Watch’s Itamar Marcus called “an odious distortion”.

Instead of the three victorious hands holding the globe, together creating the trophy, the cartoon shows a “trophy” of three hands holding three people with their hands up in surrender.

Another cartoon posted on Facebook, appeared to present the three kidnapped Israeli teens as mice caught on three hooks on a fishing rod.

Meanwhile, photos showing some Palestinians making a “victory sign,” with three fingers held up instead of two, have surfaced.
