Hendon MP Matthew Offord was among the guests of honour as Burnt Oak’s Menorah Foundation School opened its multimillion pound new building.

Pupils, parents, teachers, governors and those who worked on all stages of the build joined Mr Offord – who affirmed his continued support for faith schools when cutting the ribbon – and the Mayor of Barnet, Mark Shooter, for the opening ceremony.

Mr Shooter, who addressed pupils about the contributions the school will enable them to make to their community, affixed the mezuzahs to the new premises.

The new facility is equipped with state of the art technology, and the hope is that it will enable the school to transition to a full two-form entry primary school.

The Mayor thanked the school and its leadership for helping the community to address its need for more school places.
