Ohel’s on the ball to win shul football tournament

The two finalists, Ohel Abraham and Edgware MVS

Synagogues from Edgware, Stanmore and Mill Hill took part in the third Intershul 5-a side football tournament.

Fifteen different teams took part, initially being split into three groups of five, with the eventual winners Ohel Avraham, going through both the quarter-finals and semi-finals on penalties.

The final saw them beat Edgware MVS 2-0, with their goalkeeper Dan Kosky named Player of the Tournament.
The previous two winners, Kol Yaakov and Netzach made it through to the knockout stages.

The afternoon raised approximately £1,800 for charities including WST, a Charity supported by more than 30 local Rabbi’s with the specific aim of assisting local low income working families who are struggling to make ends meet.

David Tamman, the organiser of the event, said: “It was great to see the achdut – ‘the communal Unity’ – that this annual event brings to our shared community.”
