PARIS TERROR: Patrols increased in Barnet after supermarket siege

Security patrols will be increased around large Jewish communities in London and Manchester following the siege at a kosher supermarket in Paris.

The Community security Trust tweeted that Barnet borough commander Adrian Usher has promised additional patrols over Shabbat. Dedicated officers will also be posted in Salford and Broughton Park.

The CST said there is “no known link to UK of ongoing situation in Paris” but urged that community members follow security advise at Jewish premises this weekend.

A Board of Deputies spokesperson: “The Board of Deputies of British Jews is closely monitoring the situation in France where a number of hostages have been taken at a kosher supermarket in Paris. We are in close contact with our counterparts in France, the Conseil Représentatif des Institutions juives de France (Crif), and stand in steadfast solidarity with the French Jewish community at this difficult time.”
