Piers Corbyn: Antisemitism claims under my brother’s leadership were a ‘pack of lies’
Anti-lockdown activist says neither he or Jeremy Corbyn are antisemitic and get labelled as such because they support Palestine
Piers Corbyn has again branded claims of antisemitism under his brother’s leadership as a “pack of lies”.
The anti-lockdown activist made his remarks outside the Conservative Party conference in Manchester, where he insisted neither he or his brother were antisemitic.
Speaking to Jewish News, he said “nobody mentioned anything” about antisemitism to him at either the Labour or Tory conference, both of which he demonstrated outside.
He said claims of antisemitism during his brother’s tenure as Labour leader are “all a pack of lies, a lot of people know that.. the idea that we’re antisemitic.”
“He’s not antisemitic and neither am I.”
Asked if the brothers shared similar views, he said “we’re against all forms of racism and we both support Palestine. That is the issue. That is why we’re labelled as antisemitic, because we support the right of Palestine to exist.”
Discussing his views against lockdowns and vaccines, Piers Corbyn said the “response here is more polite and more positive on average” than outside of the Labour conference.
He was arrested in February over posters on which his name appeared comparing vaccines to Auschwitz. He also spoke at a rally outside Labour’s HQ in July, opposing expulsions for those accused of antisemitism.
