Police in Hackney say they were ‘made aware’ of a swastika which was scrawled in chalk outside a synagogue in Stamford Hill.

Volunteer neighbourhood-watch group Shomrim posted on Twitter, a Swastika symbol had been found scrawled in chalk on pavement opposite a Synagogue on Ravensdale Road N16, in Stamford Hill.

Speaking to Jewish News, police said  they were made aware in the early hours of 26 July. “Enquiries into the incident are underway and police will work with partner agencies to progress these enquiries. No arrests.”

The police spokesperson continues: “there is little to go on. The rain will have washed it off. Without any witnesses, solving the crime could be difficult.”
