A Hendon mother has asked the Jewish community to pray for her 20-year-old daughter on life-support after suffering a bleed to the brain.

Lauren Rosenberg was left hoping for a miracle this week as Liora, who also has pneumonia, lay brain dead in hospital.

Friends and family have set up an online donations page, asking people to “do a mitzvah” and raise money for ambulance charity Hatzola, describing how doctors “said [Liora] wouldn’t last the night”.

By Monday, however, she was “continuing to fight,” with mother Lauren saying: “Liora is still on a life support machine and still no movement. We had so many little miracles so far… I was told that my daughter will die on Monday, then on Tuesday, then on Wednesday, but thank God she is still with us.”

Doctors are understood to want to test Liora’s brain activity, but have been unable to do so owing to her high sodium levels.

“Let’s pull together, storm the heavens and donate anything that we can even if it’s small in the name of Liora – Chaya Leah Rachel bat Esther so we can bring a quick, speedy, complete recovery,” they said. “Miracles can happen.”
