An Invictus Games athlete says she had to pinch herself after claiming a bronze medal and meeting Prince Harry.

Sue Warner, a member of Kingston Liberal Synagogue, took third place in the swimming 50m backstroke for over 55-year-olds, and also performed well in the breaststroke and front crawl.

Speaking about her accomplishment, she said: “I still can’t believe it. Everyone was cheering so loudly.  I had to pinch myself that it was for me. I’m so happy. It was a moment to cherish.”

Sue sustained multiple fractures in an accident in 2009, following a 36-year career as a Royal Navy senior nursing officer.
