Rachel Riley, Olivia Wayne and Gemma Alster attend launch of new parenting book
Leading voices in motherhood, wellness and women's health join panel discussion
TV presenter Rachel Riley was among the guests attending the launch of Mum Power, the debut book from personal trainer, running coach and mum-of-three Emma Bord.
Hosted by Olivia Wayne, the stylish influencer breakfast brought together for an inspiring panel discussion exploring the realities of modern motherhood, postnatal recovery, confidence, nutrition and self-care.
Joining Emma on the panel were bestselling author and Scummy Mummies co-founder Helen Thorn, content creator Gemma Alster, registered nutritionist Cara Shaw and consultant gynaecologist and women’s health advocate Dr Brooke Vandermolen.
Mum Power is an empowering new guide designed to help mothers rebuild strength, confidence and wellbeing after having children. Drawing on Emma’s professional expertise and personal experience, the book challenges the pressure to “bounce back” after motherhood and instead encourages a realistic, compassionate approach to fitness, recovery and self-care.
Rachel Riley said: “I’m so inspired! My ‘baby’ is now four and a half, no excuses! I’m reclaiming my body!
“As a tired mother of teens, you would think the world of post natal fitness was behind me, however Emma Bord’s new book Mum Power and her launch today was a reminder that taking time for your physical and mental health is important at every stage of this parenting lark! What struck me today was that every woman in the room had faced periods when they didn’t feel they had time for themselves, and that they struggled to prioritise their needs, always putting themselves way down the list.
“I know I still do that , and I have a 17- and 15- year-old. Emma’s book is such a brilliant guide for women at any stage of motherhood, but especially in the beginning when you are readjusting and rebuilding who you are as a woman and mother and building a new relationship with your ever changing wonderful body. Emma’s warmth, wisdom and experience shine through this book and will act as a supportive friend to every new mum – encouraging them gently to embrace fitness within this new, wonderfully chaotic life as a mum.”
