Rachel Riley brands George Galloway ‘antisemite scum’ on Twitter

Countdown star embroiled in online spat, telling the anti-Israel former MP to 'f*** off' after he challenged her on Labour antisemitism.

Firebrand former MP George Galloway and Rachel Riley got into a Twitter spat

Countdown co-host Rachel Riley has become embroiled in a twitter spat with anti-Israel activist George Galloway, calling the failed politician “antisemite scum”.

Riley, the Channel 4 show’s brain box mathematician who has been standing against antisemitism on the social media platform, wrote “F*** off George Galloway”, after the former Labour and Respect MP responded to one of her tweets, saying: “Dumbfounding. She calls Chomsky ( or Chomski as she styles him) an anti-Semite and slanders half the Labour Party as the same. 1980’s left-wing comedy icon and all round gent backs…her! #Corbyn #Labour”.

The “all round gent” who backed Riley was, in this instance, “national treasure” Stephen Fry, who wrote: “I stand with you, Rachel x”

Galloway, now a presenter on Vladimir Putin mouthpiece broadcaster RT, attacked Riley after the antisemitism campaigner thanked Countdown co-host Nick Hewer, tweeting: “Thanks to Nick Hewer and everyone else standing shoulder to shoulder with me and so many others, against bullying, and against Antisemitism.

“It’s so very much appreciated.
