Rachel Riley to share maths tips in #LearnOnTikTok education drive

The TV presenter, who holds a degree in mathematics from Oriel College, Oxford, said the initiative 'should be fun'

Maths whizz Rachel Riley is to share on Tik Tok her top tips to excel in the subject in an £11.5 million education drive unveiled by the social media platform today.

The 34-year-old TV presenter, who holds a degree in mathematics from Oriel College at the University of Oxford, reacted to the announcement on Twitter, saying it “should be fun.”

Leading experts across different fields will create short clips ranging from tutorials to motivational tips as part of the #LearnOnTikTok programme, which has already enlisted the help of the University of Cambridge, English Heritage, the actor Sean Sagar and others.

Rich Waterworth, TikTok general manager for the EU, described short-form videos as “the perfect format for people to continue learning in a way that accounts for the busy lifestyles many of us lead today.”
