Redbridge beat Brady to go joint-top in Prem Division

Three goals from two Sollosi’s helped Redbridge claim their fifth straight league win of the season.

The game will sound like it was a standard win for Redbridge, but this is far from the truth.

Redbridge started the game in third gear, though quickly moved through the gears with some of the football played an absolute pleasure to watch and very easy on the eye.

The first goal came from a deflected finish by Sam Sollosi which settled Redbridge down, though the second was an absolute thing of a beauty with a finish that was still moving as it struck the back of the net from 25 yards and this time it was the younger Sollosi, Nathan with the finish to a glow to the scoreline.

Some of the football being played was almost too good for Brady who were really struggling to cope and with veteran, Joel Nathan at the back, they were creaking at the seams. On the stroke of half-time, Zak Neiman got his head to a ball that bounced down and over the despairing boot of the Brady defenders on the line. Three-nil at half-time should have seen Redbridge home and hosed, as well as being the catalyst for an avalanche of goals.

But the second half was a different story as Brady tightened things up and stopped the home team ball players from playing and started to get into the game. From a Redbridge attack midway through the second half, the ball broke to the Brady Number 10 who finished smartly from inside the box with the outside of his foot. It was game on and becoming a typical Redbridge performance, far too easy and now unable to turn the screw again.

Chances still were coming and in one slalom like run, Garfinkle broke into the box and with the goal gaping, sent his finish wide when it seemed easier to score. The pitch was really not helping Redbridge’s free-flowing football and if it was frustrating to play in, it was just as bad off the pitch. Manager Jon Jacobs turned to one of his subs and on saying that he didn’t need this pressure, saw an outstretched flick from a Brady player narrowed the score to 3-2 with six minutes to go.

Brady had not been in the game at all, yet now found themselves only a goal behind. The final goal though rather summed up Redbridge’s performance – a deflected finish from Nathan Sollosi finally putting the game to bed.

Jacobs said: “All I can say is it is this sort of game when it has been far too easy, that has tripped up previous Redbridge teams in the past so I will take the three points from the game and move on to our next training session when we will iron out some of the second half glitches.”
