Redbridge march on

Playing at the upmarket Hackney Marshes of Regents Park, Redbridge were at home by the zoo as they maintained their 100 percent winning start to the season.

An even start to the game on a very poor playing surface saw Redbridge begin to take control with Sam Sollosi prominent from the off. The first chance of the  game fell to Daniel Garfinkle who cut inside and smashed the ball against the bar.

The chances continued to fall with Bilbaum playing on the counter and aside from one half chance that Brad Grant did well to keep out ,it was only a matter of time for the first goal to come.

On the half hour mark, the ball was played through to Sam Sollosi, who hesitated and then at the second attempt, scored underneath the goalkeeper for a 1-0 half-time lead. No changes made at half-time, but to be fair, it was extremely comfortable for the Redbridge defence and it was just a matter of how many Redbridge would score.

The second goal came from a smart move involving Goldman on the wing, a smart flicked finish by Garfinkle for his third of the season. Redbridge continued to dominate but were not able to finish the game off.

Bilbaum switched to three up front but the defence held firm though it took a worldie from Brad Grant to somehow get the ball over the bar when it was easier for the Bilbaum striker to score.

The game finished 2-0 , a very comfortable win for the squad of Redbridge B.

Manager Jon Jacobs said: “Brad Grant had his pre-match shower on the pitch this week, I have never heard so many animals complain at the sight.

“We were down to the bare bones, Redbridge will win and lose games because of the squad unity and commitment, they are incredible to manage.”
