Redbridge romp past Raiders to go joint-top in Division One

Redbridge Jewish Care B moved joint-top of the table after they put in a very organised and well-constructed performance at the Ark Academy.

Redbridge started on the front foot, playing the passing and pressing game so well. They were rewarded after seven minutes, when a well executed corner from Brad Gayer was flicked on from the impressive Adam Noble, and thumped home by assistant-manager Richie Caplin. The game settled down after the goal and RJC had quite a few attempts to doubled their lead through, Joe Jordan and Dean Ben Yosef, but the Raiders goalkeeper produced good saves.

Against the run of play the Raiders’ talented left winger showed very good feet and went in and out on Redbridge centre-back Richie Caplin, who brought him down to give the hosts a lifeline. However, a world class penalty save from Scott Shear ensured the scoreline remained 1-0. RJC B pressed for a second goal but again the Raiders keeper was on good form and at half-time the score remained 1-0.

RJC B knew the they still had a few more gears to go, and they turned on the afterburners in the second half. The lead was doubled in the 53rd minute when a misunderstanding of a long ball was played through and the Raiders centre-back headed the ball over his on-rushing goalkeeper and left a simple tap in for the ever present Carl Dobrin.

The third goal was shortly after. A long floated delivery from Adam Noble caused a lot of confusion in Raiders penalty area, and the ball broke to the predator Dean Ben Yosef, who tucked away his opportunity for a well deserved goal.

RJC B then freshened up things with the arrivals of Anthony Cope and David Fialka, who was returning back from injury and great to see back in an RJC top. These duo combined for last goal of the game, after great work from Fialka, he crossed in for Cope to tuck away his opportunity for his second goal of the season.

Player-manager Sam Rank said: “The scoreline could have been even more emphatic, but the RJC B Boys were fantastic today. They worked as a team, worked for each other and was just brilliant to watch.

“We go into Sunday cup derby against Woodford in great form.”
