Reform UK activists face scrutiny over anti-Jewish posts and calls to ban kosher

Posts by activist campaigning alongside GB News presenter Matt Goodwin criticised

A Reform UK campaign manager has come under fire for social media posts that appeared to downplay the number of Jewish people killed in the Holocaust, as well as for another post in which he stated he “wouldn’t touch a Jewish woman.”

Adam Mitula, Reform UK’s interim campaign manager in Tameside, has been photographed among activists supporting GB News presenter Matt Goodwin’s by-election campaign in Gorton and Denton, Manchester.

According to Manchester-based publication The Mill, Mitula, a Polish-born entrepreneur involved in real estate, crypto, and fintech businesses, posted in July 2024 about his dislike of “Jewish women.”

In another troubling post from the same month, Mitula responded to a user, Jack Shields, who wrote, “… even as a Jew you know 6 million is a number they made up before WW2.”

Mitula replied: “6 million Polish people including some Jews. They always use Poles to make up the number. And on top of it they claim Poles were killing. Just sick.”

The journalist Etan Smallman was among those to call for Goodwin to act over Mitual’s posts, which included another than used the ‘n’ word.

The Mill also reports that Jacqui Harris, chair of Reform’s Kenilworth and Southam branch, has been seen canvassing for Goodwin.

Harris, who previously stood as a Reform candidate in the 2024 general election, faced criticism after the Campaign Against Antisemitism found she had shared posts comparing the modern state of Israel to Nazi Germany.

In March 2019, Harris, then a Conservative councillor, endorsed a post claiming antisemitism allegations against Jeremy Corbyn were “a false flag, probably masterminded by Mossad/CIA,” calling it “spot on.”

Later that year, she liked and shared a post suggesting Donald Trump was an Israeli “puppet.” The post linked to an article asserting: “All the credible, independent, and objective evidence proves that Israel and the United States were behind 9/11. Despite the fact that the Zionist-controlled US mainstream media simply ignores all the evidence.”

Harris was suspended by the Conservative Party in 2019 over allegations of antisemitism but was later cleared, before being suspended again in 2020.

It is unclear whether Goodwin was aware of the social media histories of either Mitula or Harris. He was approached for comment but did not respond to The Mill.

Meanwhile, Jewish News has found further calls from Reform UK members for the party to support a policy banning both kosher and halal meat.

One poster on Reform UK’s Tamworth social media page wrote: “I hope Reform have the balls to ban kosher, halal slaughtering, forced marriages … I find these practices archaic, indecent.”

Other Reform supporters voiced support for comments by Rupert Lowe MP, who said his new Elon Musk-backed Restore Party would “outlaw” both kosher and halal practices.

Jewish News also noted an online backlash from some on the political right following the launch of the Reform Jewish Alliance last week.

Some posters said they could no longer back Nigel Farage’s party, alleging it was under the influence of the “lobby” and “Zionists.”

Others claimed the formation of a Jewish wing cemented their plans to support parties further to the right than Reform UK, such as Ben Habib’s Advance Party.
