A pledge to make fighting anti-Semitism and Islamophobia a priority is part of Sadiq Khan’s manifesto for City Hall.

The document, released this morning, commits Labour’s mayoral hopeful to promote tolerance and tackle hate crime of all types. It adds: “I will make challenging the alarming rise in anti-Semitism and Islamophobia that we have seen in recent years a priority.”
Ahead of the launch of his Manifesto for All Londoners, Khan – who has a five point lead in the latest polls – said: “I know only too well what it feels like to be discriminated against just because of your background. I will always stand up for London’s Jewish community and against prejudice and hatred.”
His Tory rival, Zac Goldmsith, has also pledged to make tackling anti-Semitism a priority for the Met.
