Dudi Sela

Dudi Sela’s US Open campaign is over after he was knocked out of the men’s doubles competition on Monday afternoon.

Teaming up with Belgian Steve Darcis, they were taking on Netherland duo Robin Haase and Matwe Middelkoop on the Louis Armstrong Court.

Having exchanged a break of serves in the first two games, Sela and Darcis broke again in the ninth game, leaving Sela to serve out for the first set. However, unable to, the set went to a tiebreak, when the Israeli-Belgian duo lost 7-1.

The second set proved to be another frustrating one, being broken early on, then breaking back, only to be broken once more, Sela failing to hold his serve again as they lost 6-3.

Later on Monday, Yshai Oliel will also be in doubles action. Teaming up with Russian Alexey Zakhrov, take on Brazilian duo Igor Gimenez and Matheus Pucilnelle De Almeida in their first round junior doubles clash.

Oliel is already through to the second round of the Boys’ singles competition after he beat American Ryan Goetz 6-4, 6-4. He next face Korean Uisung Park.
