Sela suffers second round exit in Rio

Israel's sole tennis player beaten in straight sets.

Dudi Sela's first Olympic Games was ended in the second round

Dudi Sela’ Olympic Games is over after he was comprehensively beaten on Tuesday evening.

Up against the world number 13, Belgian David Goffin, Sela, who’s Israel’s first male singles player in the Games since 1992, was broken early in the first set, and while he held his serve, to stay a break away from leveling the score, was broken again as he lost the first set 6-3.

It was a similar case in the second, being broken in his second service match, though his task got all the more harder when broken again to trail 4-1. Both then held their serve, meaning Goffin had the chance to serve for the match – which he did – taking the set 6-3.
