Sela is through to the third round at Wimbledon

Dudi Sela’s preparations for next week’s Wimbledon Championships continued with another win at the AEGON Nottingham Open

Taking on Portugal’s João Sousa, Sela broke twice in the first six games of the first set to take a commanding 4-2 lead, before comfortably holding on to take the first set 6-3.

The second set went to serve early on, though at 2-2, Sela broke again, before holding to take a 4-2 lead for the second time in the match. Sousa soon broke back, and with each holding their serve, the second set went to a tie-break. Securing an early break, and racing into a 6-1 lead, eventually took the set 7-3.

He will next take on German Benjamin Becker.

Jonathan Erlich is set to begin his Nottingham campaign later on in the doubles, when he and GB’s Colin Fleming, take on GB’s Dominic Inglot and Canadian Daniel Nestor.

Over at Wimbledon, Julia Glushko and Amir Weintraub are set to begin their qualifying campaign later on Tuesday.

Glushko takes on Chinese Taipei’s Kai-Chen Chang, while Weintraub faces Belgian Ruben Bemelmans.
