Sharon Osborne got the first call when her son left the jungle
Jack Osborne proved he is that nice Jewish boy when he was voted out of I'm A Celebrity!
Sadly, there was no faith link in the final instalment of I’m A Celebrity! Adopting Jack Osborne and Ruby Wax — JUBY — as our mascots was a smart move and for a brief and glorious stretch we genuinely believed they both had a shot at the crown. But we were wrong.
After Ruby’s departure — which left Angry Ginge distraught— we watched Jack leave at the same time as Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley – closing the door on the JUBY era after 21 days. Talking to Ant and Dec, he said the highlight of the entire experience had been “connecting with people”, and that he’d come away with real friendships in the UK which he has not had before and didn’t expect.
He joked that if he hadn’t taken over the cooking early on, the whole camp might have perished from “some strange jungle-born rare meat disease”, which was on the cards if Ruby had cooked.
Greeted at the end of the bridge by his wife Aree, we were then told she is pregnant with what will be Jack’s fifth child. Once outside the jungle his first call was to mum Sharon, who had watched him throughout. Sister Kelly later told fans that when Jack called, they “laughed and cried”, which is a typical Osbourne conversation.
And that’s it, no Jewish finalist to root for, but it was the kindest instalment of the 25-year-old show – and we all needed that. And there’s a very good chance both Ruby and Jack will be fronting or appearing on our screens again very soon. Of course you probably want to know who won the title, but don’t ask us – once JUBY left the jungle we stopped watching. (Not really it was… Ginge, with 13 million votes). Based on the King of the Jungle’s admiration for Ruby we predict a two-hander coming to the small box soon.
