She’s back! X Factor rapper Honey G given second chance

Jewish entrant will jet off to LA for Judges' Houses after Ivy Grace forced to pull out due to visa problems

Jewish rapper Honey G goes through to the Judges' Houses after fellow contestant Ivy Grace had to withdraw from The X Factor due to visa issues

Jewish rap artist Honey G has been given a second chance to prove her worth after another singer was forced to pull out of The X Factor due to visa problems.

The 35-year-old rapper was initially refused a spot in the judges’ houses after judges were disappointed by her rendition of Missy Elliott and Pharrell’s WTF (Where They From) – despite huge protests from the audience.

But Filipino singer Ivy Grace faced visa problems allowing her to travel to Los Angeles, where the next part of the competition will be filmed, meaning a space was freed up for Honey G.

Sharon said: “I’m really disappointed that Ivy couldn’t continue in the competition but I really wish her well.

“I thought long and hard about who can take Ivy’s place in the competition and I have never received so many calls and texts about an auditionee before.

“She’s larger than life, she’s fun, she’s different to everyone else in this competition… and I love different.”

Honey G paid tribute to her fellow contestant and said: “I think Ivy’s voice is incredible and she’s very talented. She definitely would have gone very far in the competition if she had stayed.

“Obviously it’s a great shame she couldn’t progress but I’m very lucky and very happy to be back in the competition, a complete stroke of luck for me.”

The budding star, real name Anna Georgette Gilford, works in recruitment and hails from Harrow.
