Shimon Peres celebrates 93rd birthday
Soldiers sang happy birthday to the ex-president before presenting him with a cake
Shimon Peres was noticeably moved at his 93rd birthday celebration this week in Israel.
The ex-Israeli president was given a surprise party during a lecture, with hundreds of soldiers and officers of the Military Intelligence Research Division in attendance.
The soldiers sung ‘happy birthday” on stage before they presented him with a cake that had two candles showing the number 93.
Head of Research Gen. Dror Shalom bestowed the statesman with a shofar on behalf of the IDF, calling Peres ‘’one of the most influential actors in national security.’’
Peres thanked the soldiers, saying: ‘’I am very proud of the army and proud of its commanders. They are the best gift I could ask for.”
