Woman arrested after ‘throwing stones’ into playground of Jewish children
Police confirm a woman, aged in her 50s was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence
A woman who threw stones into a playground full of Jewish children has been arrested.
Police made the arrest after Shomrim, the Jewish neighbourhood watch group, share disturbing footage of the incident on social media.
In a statement, they said: “Police were called at 1340hrs on Sunday, 26 December, to a woman throwing stones in Belz Terrace, E5.
“Officers attended the location. There was no reported injury.
“A woman, aged in her 50s, was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence. She was subsequently bailed pending further enquiries to a date in mid-January.”
In the clip, the woman appears to throw stones over the fence of ‘Belz Terrace’ in Clapton.
On Boxing day, Shomrim shared an image of the suspect being led into a police van.
